Equipment Varies
Compass Virtual uses an Equipment Varies (EQV) policy to give pilots flexibility to fly a different aircraft type on any scheduled service.
EQV guidelines
Long-haul widebody routes (e.g. SYD→LAX, MEL→LHR) Substitute with any large widebody: A330, A340, A350, A380, B747, B767, B777, B787, MD-11
Medium-haul widebody routes (e.g. SYD→SIN, MEL→HKG) Substitute with any widebody: A300, A310, A330, A350, B767, B777, B787
Narrowbody routes (e.g. SYD→MEL, AKL→CHC) Substitute with any narrowbody: A319, A320, A321, B737 series, E-Jets (E195 and E175), and MD-80 series
Regional routes (Express operations) Substitute with any regional type: ATR 72, Dash 8-300, Q400, E175, E195 (Embraer use on Dash 8/ATR routes is subject to runway length at destination).
Rules
- The substitute type must be appropriate for the route distance and runway length. You will usually find a list of suitable EQV types in SmartCARS.
- Cargo and freighter flights are not subject to EQV
- ExJet flights always use the assigned charter type
