To celebrate Australia Day this year Compass is hosting a flyin in association with VATPAC to the national captial, Canberra.
We invite all members of the VATPAC and VATNZ communities to join with us for this event.
Compass will be looking to operate as many flights in and out of Canberra as possible during the 6 hour period and we invite all of our colleagues within VATOCE to join us and make this a truly memorable flyin with as much traffic in and around the Canberra TMA as possible. We'd like to see everything thrown at the national capital, RPT operations, military operations and GA VFR flights as well.
To make the day an even greater challenge for the controllers in collaboration with VATPAC Events we will make things extra difficult by closing off portions of Canberra airspace near the airport to allow a fly past by all VATPAC affiliated VAs. At this stage we anticiapte the fly past taking place around 1630-1700 local time.
The event will run from 1400 - 2000 local time (0300-0900 UTC). VATPAC events will handle bookings for ATC positions. We anticipate that the following will be required:
- ML-BIK_CTR
- ML-SNO_CTR
- CB_APP
- CB_TWR
- CB_GND
Those interested in manning an ATP position should contact Steve Cullen who will be co-ordinating ATC coverage for the events.
