What do we do with your private information?
Compass is a hobby and it's members all share a common interest in replicating the operations of a major International air carrier. We don't conduct any business transactions, nor do we offer any real world services. As far as we can tell we are probably exempt from the provisions of the various privacy acts in most Australian jurisdictions, both State and Federal.
We do however ask you for some private information when you join Compass. The only private things we ask for are your age, your email address and your VATSIM ID if you have one.
Email and spammers
We will not disclose your email address to anyone. It is kept so that we contact you if we need to. It will never be passed on to anyone else. We also recommend that you always use a firewall, anti virus and anti spyware program while online.
Age
We ask about age so we have an idea about whom Compass interests and how best to keep Compass relevant to all it's members. We have members ranging in age from their early teens to their 70's and 80's so we are a diverse group. If you are uncomfortable about disclosing your age feel free to discuss it with us. |
VATSIM ID
We are proud to affiliated with VATSIM and with VATPAC and VATNZ,, the Oceania divisions of VATSIM. One of VATSIM's rules is that all affiliated Virtual Airlines must display the VATSIM ID of their VATSIM members. We do this on our roster page. While flying online with VATSIM is not compulsory for Compass pilots, we do highly recommend it |
Forums When signing up on our forums you will also be asked for some information. There are a range of privacy options offered here and you are free to enter only what you are comfortable with. Your email is required as it is part of the forum verification process
